Affiliate disclosure

Last updated: 15 May 2026

The plain statement

When you click on a hosting-provider profile link or a "Get [Provider] deal" button on our homepage feed, we may receive a commission if you subsequently sign up for that provider's service. This is at no extra cost to you.

Why we run affiliates

Affiliate revenue keeps the HostingChecker lookup tool free for everyone and funds development of new probes — things like detection for emerging CDN providers, new control-panel signatures, and improved CMS fingerprinting. Without affiliates, the tool would either need a paywall or a tracker-heavy ad stack. We prefer the affiliate model.

Editorial independence

The detection engine — the part of the site that actually determines who hosts a given domain — is not influenced by affiliate relationships. The same probes run for every domain, regardless of whether the detected provider pays us a commission, pays us nothing, or competes with one of our partners. We do not "round up" toward a paying partner, we do not suppress detections of non-partners, and we do not adjust confidence scores based on commercial considerations.

If you ever spot a result that looks like it has been tilted toward a commercial partner, please email [email protected] with the domain in question. We treat that kind of report seriously.

How affiliate links are marked

Affiliate links on provider profile pages are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow", in line with FTC guidance and EU advertising rules. This makes the commercial nature of the link transparent to both search engines and readers.

No pay-to-list

We do not accept payment to add a provider to the site, and we do not promote providers that have not been independently detected from real-world probes. Every provider you see listed on HostingChecker is there because the detection engine has observed real domains running on their infrastructure.

Active partnerships

A full list of active affiliate partnerships will be published here once partnerships are confirmed. Until then, assume that any outbound link to a hosting provider may carry an affiliate parameter.
